Health ministry reports 1,612 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 1,612 new infection cases this evening, raising the COVID-19 count on Saturday to 3,718, another daily record.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from July 1-17

The latest patients include 12 Vietnamese returnees, of whom two returned to Viet Nam via the Ha Tien international border gate in Kien Giang province on July 15 and via Long Binh international border gate in An Giang on June 26, two repatriated from the United Arab Emirates from June 17, and eight from Indonesia on July 6.

All the others are domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (1,017), Dong Thap (139), Long An (134), Khanh Hoa (78), Dong Nai (64), Da Nang (33), Phu Yen (30), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (23), Tra Vinh (15), Hung Yen (13), Ha Noi (13), Gia Lai (5), Binh Thuan (5), An Giang (5), Ha Nam (5), Dak Nong (4), Hai Phong (3), Binh Phuoc (3), Quang Ngai (3), Bac Ninh (2), Can Tho (2), Bac Giang (1), Lang Son (1), Ninh Thuan (1), Vinh Phuc (1). Of these, 1,279 cases were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

These above cases take the national patient tally to 47,904.

The ministry also reports 292 patients were discharged from hospitals the same day, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 10,312./.
