PM Phuc leaves for 2nd Belt and Road Forum
VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday left Ha Noi for Beijing, China to attend the second Belt and Road Forum from April 25-27.

He is accompanied by Politburo member, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Trade and Industry Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, and Chief Government Inspector Le Minh Khai.
PM Phuc is expected to have bilateral meetings with Chinese leaders to discuss ways to further advance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China in a stable, health and sustainable manner.
Over the past time, both sides have maintain regular exchange of visits and contacts, contributing to consolidate mutual political trust. The leaders of the two countries have stressed the Viet Nam-China relationship is the precious asset that should be nurtured, inherited and upheld.
They have affirmed their resolve to deepen bilateral cooperation and support each other in the reform and open-door causes in respective countries for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on linking of the “Belt and Road” and “Two Corridors, One Belt” initiatives on the occasion of Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping’s State visit to Viet Nam in 2017.
China is the biggest trade partner and the second largest importer of Viet Nam. Last year, the two-way trade value reached US$106.7 billion, up 13.8% against 2017.
The Northern neighbor is the 7th biggest foreign investor in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$14.2 billion.
