In his meeting with Israel’s President Simon Peres, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng underlined that Việt Nam places importance on the expanding ties with Israel and will create favorable conditions for Israeli investors to do business.

Acknowledging Israel’s assistance in training Vietnamese technicians, the Government chief hoped that Israel would continue this work and grant more scholarships for Vietnamese trainees, especially in education, biotechnology and high technologies.

PM Dũng agreed to dispatch the Minister of Science and Technology and leaders of some ministries to Israel for discussions on bilateral cooperation.

For his part, President Simon Peres confirmed Israel’s desire to develop the multifaceted cooperation and share its experience with Việt Nam.

Meeting each other in Copenhagen, PM Dũng and Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd were pleased with the recent advancements of the bilateral relationship.

They agreed that the two sides should design a joint action program to drastically finalize the document on comprehensive partnership, which was drafted during the Australia tour made by Vietnamese Party chief Nông Đức Mạnh.

Highly speaking of Australia’s assistance in environment protection and combating climate change, PM Dũng expected Australia to transfer Việt Nam weather forecast technologies and research results on climate change in the Asia-Australia region. He also hoped to see stronger cooperation in food quarantine and hygiene so that more agro- and marine products from Việt Nam can easily penetrate in Australia.

PM Kevin Rudd agreed with PM Dũng’s opinions on the closer cooperation between Việt Nam and Australia in protecting environment, responding to climate change, and settling other regional and international issues.
