Leaders pay tribute to great President Ho Chi Minh
VGP - A delegation of leaders and former leaders of the Party and the State and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) paid tribute to great President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Ha Noi on May 6 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the resounding Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-May 7, 2024).

The delegation comprised Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai, and others.
The leaders expressed their gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh's great contributions to the nation's revolution cause.
On the occasion, they offered incense and paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.
A grand military parade will take place on the morning of May 7 to mark the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory, which is of great historical value and era significance to our people’s revolutionary cause and the world, especially the national liberation movements.
The great and resounding victories of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century, with Dien Bien Phu as a major landmark, together with considerable historic achievements of the renovation process, have generated a new position and power for Viet Nam today and enabled the Vietnamese people to firmly advance on the path to the future.
Dien Bien Phu victory is designated a “golden milestone” in the history of Viet Nam as was a triumph of patriotism, the undaunted spirit, and the strength of the great national solidarity of Viet Nam under the smart and clear-sighted leadership of the Party. It was also a demonstration of the maturity of the Viet Nam People’s Army.
Earlier, the final rehearsal for the national-level celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024) took place in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien on May 5 morning.
On the occasion, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced the publication of a special set of stamps celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 5./.
