The launch ceremony took place on March 5 at the Viet Nam-Australia Business Forum on the sidelines of the of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit commemorating the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia dialogue relations.

VietJet’s daily flights from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City and twice-weekly service to Ha Noi will operate twice a week from early June.

Beginning June 3, 2024, flight VJ93 will depart Ha Noi on Mondays and Fridays at 5:10pm to reach Melbourne at 6am the following day.

The VJ94 return leg will be wheels-up from Melbourne on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30am, arriving in Ha Noi at 2:40pm.

Although Vietjet is broadly considered a low-cost carrier, its international Airbus A330s do offer a premium business class cabin.

Vietjet started exploiting the Australian market since April 2023. It has aggressively expanded its footprint to a solid 58 flights per week connecting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide to the major business and commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City.

The new route is the airline’s first Australian service to the Vietnamese capital city of Ha Noi./.
