Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia should work together to nurture their relationship: Party chief

VGP – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong underscored the significance of the relationship between Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia, expressing his wish that the three countries should work together to preserve and strengthen the relationship for prosperity of each country and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Nguyen shared the above talks during his reception for President of Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin in Ha Noi on September 13.

The Party, State and people of Viet Nam always support the cause of national construction and development of Cambodia and treasure Cambodia's support and assistance for Viet Nam thus far, the Party chief affirmed.

He highlighted that Viet Nam and Cambodia are close neighbors and brothers, having stood side by side for national liberation and unification in the past and for the current cause of national construction and development.

Nguyen wished that Cambodia would continue gaining greater achievements in the future.

For his part, Heng Samrin, who is on a three-day official visit to Viet Nam, thanked Viet Nam for helping Cambodia to gain independence and save his country from the genocidal Pol Pot regime.

He pledged to work with Viet Nam to protect, preserve and lift up the relationship between the two countries to new heights./

During his vist,  Heng Samrin held talks with top Vietnamese legislator Vuong Dinh Hue and met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh./.
