Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex overall plan ratified

VGP – The PM has approved the overall plan on Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

The complex is located on a land area of 12,252 ha covering the districts of Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, Nho Quan and Ninh Binh City.

The plan set forth development orientations for theTrang An Landscape Complex, protective areas, residential areas and tourist service areas.

The Trang An Landscape Complex covers 6,172 ha within the Trang An limestone massif, and is surrounded by a buffer zone of 6,079 ha, mostly comprising rice paddy fields. 

Trang An is administered by the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee and managed by the Trang An Landscape Complex Management Board.

On June 23rd, 2014, the UNESCO officially inscribed Trang An Landscape Complex on the World Heritage list. The Committee recognized the Outstanding Universal Value of Trang An based on three criteria: cultural value, scenic and aesthetic value and geological and geomorphological value.
