The event was hosted by the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism with technical sponsor of the EU-Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Program (EU-ESRT).

ESRT Program's international expert Mr. Robert Travers suggested the establishment of special tourism centers featuring the Mekong Delta region.

To improve regional tourism products, a number of measures were proposed, including improving the quality of resorts and hotels and tours to orchards.

Earlier on October 18, 2014, the three localities signed a cooperative agreement on tourism development.
