Workshop on President Ho Chi Minh held in India

VGP - The Vietnamese Embassy in India and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on December 17 in New Delhi held a seminar on President Ho Chi Minh and his role in building Viet Nam-India relations to mark the 60th anniversary of the late Vietnamese leader’s official visit to India (1958-2018).

The event draw the participation of Pham Sanh Chau, Vietnamese Ambassador to India, Sanjiv Sethi from the Southern Department of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, scholars and researchers of history and international relations, and students from the JNU. 

Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh told the seminar in Kolkata city, west Bengal, that President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader of Vietnamese people, a hero of national liberation, a world cultural figure as well as the first leader establishing a firm foundation for Viet Nam-India relations. 

President of the India-Viet Nam Solidarity Committee, Geetesh Sharma, said Viet Nam and Ho Chi Minh are two most famous foreign names among Indian people. He said from every aspect, President Ho Chi Minh is the most brilliant figure of the era.

Participants highlighted the contribution of President Ho Chi Minh to Viet Nam’s modern diplomacy, saying his diplomatic career has left the Vietnamese diplomatic sector a great legacy, including the Viet Nam-India relations that President Ho Chi Minh and PM Jawaharlal Nehru wholeheartedly nurtured and fostered.

Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy and the India-Viet Nam Solidarity Committee laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh statue in Kolkata central park.
