WB approves new credits for VN’s education
VGP - The World Bank (WB) in Việt Nam on Wednesday agreed to offer two credit contracts of US $177 million to help strengthen the development of Việt Nam's primary and higher education systems.

Accordingly, US $50 million will be used to support the operation of Việt Nam's first Higher Education Development Policy Program which aims to upgrade training establishments and relevant study programs.
The other US $127 million credit is given to the School Education Quality Assurance Program, which attaches attention to disadvantaged primary students by perfecting policies, manpower, and facilities for study.
Việt Nam has recorded great progress in terms of teaching quality, especially at high education level. By approving the credits, the WB hopes to provide additional financial sources to the national education sector for better quality of education and training and assisting disadvantaged children.
On the same day, the WB also approved two other environment projects, valuing US $12 million, on reducing water pollution in rivers of Quy Nhơn City and on fostering management and treatment of polychlorinated biphenyls in the country.
