VOV marks 70th founding anniversary

VGP – The Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) on September 7 in Ha Noi held a meeting to celebrate its 70th founding anniversary (September 7, 1945-September 7, 2015) and reception of First Class Independent Medal for the second time.

The event was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former State President Le Duc Anh, former Party and State leaders, among others.

Addressing the celebration, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam warmly congratulated and showed his respect for generations of VOV leaders, staff, reporters, technicians, and artists, regarding them as soldiers in the front of ideology and culture and close and intimate friends of people, who delivered the voice of People and the Country.

According to Mr. Dam, in the period of comprehensive renovation and integration, revolutionary press in general and VOV in particular play an increasingly important role in disseminating policies and guidelines of the Party and State; upholding rights to mastery of people and protecting their legitimate rights; building Vietnamese culture; consolidating national solidarity; encouraging progress; condemning crime; combating red tape, corruption, as well as wastefulness.

So far, VOV is the first national mass communications agency offering four types of press including radio and television broadcast, print and electric newspaper.

On this occasion, Vice National Assembly Chairperson Tong Thi Phong presented First Class Independent Medal to VOV./.
