The Japanese Ambassador and the city’s leader cut the ribbon to inaugurate the tunnel |
The tunnel, part of Belt Road 1 in Hà Nội, has a reinforced concrete structure with a length of 140m and 450-m-long walls.
It was constructed by Japanese contractor Taisei under the supervision of the Japan Bridge & Structure Institute.
The tunnel is part of the Japan-funded ODA project worth of US $130 million signed in 1999. The construction of this tunnel and other traffic works in Hà Nội helps to clear the city’s transport bottlenecks.
