The PM required VNPT to work closely with other relevant ministries and agencies to follow the project.

The submarine cable network will connect the following economies: China, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Việt Nam, Thailand and Singapore.

The APG will span about 8,000 km from the Republic of Korea to Malaysia and have a minimum design capacity of four terabits per second.

Jointly invested by China Telecom, China Unicom, Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), NTT Communications (Japan), KT (Republic of Korea), PLDT (Philippines), Telekom Malaysia (Malaysia) and VNPT (Việt Nam), the system will come into operation in Q3, 2011.

AGP will function as an alternative for other existing cable systems.
