VN, US to exchange high-level visits

VGP – Viet Nam and the US have agreed to closely coordinate in organizing activities, including the exchange of high-level visits, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the normalization of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh and the newly-accredited US Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ted Osius, on Thursday reviewed the multi-faceted developments of the bilateral relations since the two countries established the comprehensive partnership in July 2013.

Both sides also discussed on bilateral coordination in a bid to conclude the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations as scheduled.

Deputy PM, FM Minh welcomed the diplomat’s first activities to beef up the relationship between the two countries since he took office as the new US Ambassador to Viet Nam several months ago.

The Deputy PM, FM suggested the US Ambassador continue close collaboration with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to strengthen the bilateral ties for the sake of each country and for peace and stability in the region.

The US Ambassador affirmed that he will spare no effort to accelerate the bilateral cooperation, especially in such fields like trade, investment, education and people-to-people exchanges./.
