VN, Tunisia aim at closer ties

VNGOP – Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm had a talks on June 26 in Hanoi with Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdelwaheh Abdallah who is paying a working visit to Vietnam. After the talks, the two sides signed two agreements on diplomacy and tourism.

Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm reaffirmed that, in her diplomatic policies, Vietnam always attaches great importance to the friendship and cooperation of mutual benefit with African countries, including Tunisia.

The Tunisian diplomat highly praised the Vietnamese people's achievements in the cause of renovation. He also stated that Tunisia pays great attention to deepening all ties with Vietnam, especially in trade, investment, agriculture and tourism.

The two Foreign Ministers showed their delight at positive progresses in the bilateral multifaceted cooperation over the past time, affirming their determination to strengthen and develop the Vietnam-Tunisia relationship at a new height, for the sake of the two peoples' interest, peace, cooperation and development in the regions and the world.

The host and the guest both highly spoke of the signing of an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, business and special passports; a protocol on political consultation between the two foreign ministries; and an agreement on tourism cooperation.

The two sides also shared their views on regional and international issues of common concern. They expressed their desire to increase the exchange of visits at all echelons in order to share information and boost collaboration on international forums, contributing to joint efforts for peace, stability, cooperation, development and an equal international community based on the principles of mutual benefit, respect to national independence and sovereignty, and no intervention into internal affairs.
