VN to host two int’l sports tourneys

VNGOP – Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân agreed that Việt Nam will host two international sports tournaments and ask UNESCO to recognize its world heritage sites.

Accordingly, Việt Nam will organize the 3^rd leg of Asian Grand Prix 2008 in Hà Nội and the Southeast Asian Age-group Chess Championship 2008 in the central city of Đà Nẵng.

Việt Nam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will submit documents to UNESCO to recognize the Cát Tiên National Park as the World Natural Heritage Site. The Phong Nha - Kẻ Bàng National Park is also proposed for the second recognition as the World Natural Heritage Site in terms of biodiversity.
