VN to host 3rd Int’l Rice Conference 2010
VGP - The 3rd International Rice Conference (IRC 2010) will be held in Hà Nội in November 2010 to mark the 50th anniversary of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Asia’s largest and oldest international agricultural research center

Việt Nam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) will preside over the event in collaboration with IRRI and the Asia Congress Events.
The IRC 2010 will include the 28th international seminar on rice research, the 3rd global workshop on rice trade, the 3rd international exhibition of rice cultivation technology and civilization, and the 50th celebration of the IRRI’s establishment.
Optimal solutions for the global food crisis will also top the agenda of the IRC 2010.
Diversification and advances in technologies of rice cultivation play a vital role in ensuring food security in the context of the world’s rising demands in the time to come, said Doctor Tô Phúc Tường, an IRRI scientist.
In addition, delegates will discuss the key trends of the world's rice development, production of alternative food, and the application of agricultural product processing technologies from China, Republic of Korea and Japan.
