VN to hold mid-term CG meeting in central province

Mid-term CG meeting for Việt Nam often takes place in June while the annual CG meeting December

 

The Ministry of Planning and Investment, in coordination with the World Bank and relevant agencies, is assigned to take prime responsibility for organizing such important event.

The mid-term CG meeting is a forum for the Vietnamese Government and sponsors to review the Việt Nam’s socio-economic performance as well as the implementation of the country’s commitments to the previous meeting.

The event also provides an opportunity for the two sides to discuss measures to beef up coordination between the Government and sponsors.

At this year’s CG meeting on December 7-8 in Hà Nội, international sponsors pledged to provide Việt Nam with US $7.9 billion in official development assistance (ODA).

Since the first CG meeting in 1993 in Paris, France, annual event is periodically organized in December.

The mid-term CG meeting was introduced in 1998 and often takes place in June in different localities./.
