Six existing airports will be upgraded to receive international flights. They are Cát Bi, Chu Lai, Cam Ranh, Phú Bài, Cần Thơ, and Phú Quốc. Long Thành, the biggest terminal, is under construction.

In the North, Nội Bài and Cát Bi international airports will handle 50 million and 4 million passengers a year respectively by 2025.

There will be four international airports in the central region, namely Đà Nẵng, Phú Bài, Cam Ranh and Chu Lai. The central area will serve as transport and trading hub between the Mekong Delta and other countries in the Asia Pacific Region.

Four international airports will locate in the South. Tân Sơn Nhất international airport, currently providing services to 10 million visitors per year, is being expanded to host 23.5 million passengers and 600,000 tons of cargo a year.

Plus, the newly-built Cần Thơ international airport was put into operation since early 2009. Phú Quốc is expected to host annually 7 million guests by 2030. Finally, Long Thành international airport, supposed to be one of the largest aviation centers in the region, will welcome yearly around 100 million passengers.
