The signing ceremony of the projects

The Director of the EVN International Joint-stock Company and Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Thoongmy Phomvisay have signed a memorandum of understanding on the projects.

Accordingly, the two Vietnamese companies will be investors of three hydro-electricity projects Namen 1, 2 and 3.

To obtain investment licenses, they are required to survey and make economic-technical verifications which must be submitted to the Lao Government.

Together with a 1,400 MW hydro-electric power plant invested by PetroVietnam in Luang Prabang, these three projects in Houaphan are a vivid evidence of the bilateral commitment of Việt Nam and Laos to cooperate in energy field.
