VN to boost judicial reform for integration

VNGOP – Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Board for Judicial Reform headed a Vietnamese delegation to visit Canada from May 28 to June 05.

In the meetings with leaders of the Canadian Parliament and the Justice Minister, Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng briefed Vietnam's justice sector and its requirements for reform and improved performance. The Deputy PM also introduced some socio-economic achievements gained by Vietnam recently, especially WTO accession, organization of APEC 14 and the 12th National Assembly election.

He asked the Canadian Justice Ministry to cooperate and assist the Vietnamese counterpart in the reform and international integration.

Leaders of the Canadian Senate and Chamber of Representatives highly valued Vietnam's achievements as well as increased role in the region and the world. They showed their support to Vietnam's determination to catch up the process of international integration. The Canadian Justice Minister confirmed that Canada advocates Vietnam's judicial reform by exchanging experience on management and training professional staff.
