VN-Sweden Development Cooperation Deal extended to 2007's end

VNGOVNet – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng agreed on January 26 to extend the Vietnam-Sweden Development Cooperation Agreement to December 31, 2007 and take the additional SEK 300 million in nonrefundable grant from Sweden that sends the total amount of Swedish grants for financing development projects in Vietnam up to SEK 1.2 billion.

The PM authorized the Ministry of Planning and Investment to sign the extension document with Sweden.

The Vietnam-Sweden Development Cooperation Agreement 2004-2006 was signed during a formal visit to Vietnam by the Swedish Royal Family in February 2004, thereby Sweden committed to provide Vietnam with SEK 300 million (equivalent to US$ 40 million) in nonrefundable grant annually.
