VN, Sweden cement fine relations

VNGOP- Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng, on June 16, started his Euro official tour in Sweden by holding talks with Swedish Deputy PM, Minister for Enterprise and Energy Maud Olofsson, and having a meeting with Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson.

At talks with Swedish Deputy PM, Minister for Enterprise and Energy Maud Olofsson, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng applauded the bilateral trade and investment relations, announcing some Sweden’s profitably-running enterprises in Việt Nam, such as Kinnevik-Comvik, Ericsson, ABB, IKEA, and Electrolux.

The two sides agreed to cement and deepen inter-governmental cooperation, facilitating operations of enterprises. The Swedish Government expressed hope to turn the bilateral cooperative relationship into equal partnership.    

Deputy PM Hùng suggested that the two countries efficiently implement the Agreement on Science Research Cooperation 2008-11, focusing on environment protection, climate change and biology technology.

Both Vietnamese and Swedish Governments agreed to entrust each Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold the anniversary of 40-year establishment of diplomatic relations.

During the meeting with Swedish Minster for International Development Cooporation Gunilla Carlsson, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng confirmed the effectiveness of Sweden-funded ODA projects in Việt Nam, calling upon the host country to keep assisting Việt Nam in such fields as healthcare, education, and administrative reform.

On the same day, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng met Vice President of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Mia Horn Af Rautzien, witnessing the signing of an Agreement on “Việt Nam-Sweden researching continuation and completion 2008-11”.
