VN strictly deals with human trafficking

VGP – Viet Nam pays great attention to prevention and control of human trafficking and resolutely deal with the crime, said FM Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on March 14 in reply to the question about thousands of Vietnamese children trafficked to Europe and forced to work and become prostitutes.

Ms. Hang said that Viet Nam regards human trafficking, especially the trafficking of women and children, is a dangerous crime, which seriously violates human rights and badly affects the nation’s socio-economic development.

Viet Nam has actively joined hand with other nations and participate in more multi-lateral forums on prevention and control of human trafficking, she stressed.

*Regarding Chinese Taipei’s re-granting preferential visa for Vietnamese visitors, the Spokesperson said that Viet Nam welcomes Taiwan’s continuance to grant visa for Vietnamese visitors under the “Kuan Hung Pilot Project”, which will make contributions to promoting people-to-people exchanges and tourism.

The “Kuan Hung Pilot Project” is an electronic visa program designed to increase the number of quality tourist groups from the ASEAN member states of Indonesia, Viet Nam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and India.
