VN sets typical example in Covid-19 fight and economic recovery

VGP – The Republic of Korea’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho said Viet Nam has set a typical example in fighting Covid-19 and rebooting the economy.

Lee made the above statement at meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on Friday.

As of 6:05 am on December 4, Viet Nam confirmed 1,361 infection cases, including 1,209 recoveries and 35 deaths.

The Southeast Asian country has been one of the fastest-growing economies in the region, with trade surplus breaking new record of over US$20 billion in January-November period.

Lee is the third Korean official to have visited Viet Nam so far this year, after FM Kwang Kyung-wha and National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-Seug.

Minh welcomed Lee’s visit to Viet Nam, saying it is evidence of the two countries’ efforts to maintain contacts amid the swift and complicated evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He took the occasion to welcome Korean businesses to expand investment cooperation in Viet Nam, asking the Korean side to increase import of Vietnamese farm produce towards balanced trade ties between the sides.

During his visit, Lee held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and attend the 8th Mekong-RoK Business Forum./.
