VN, Russia vow to boost agriculture cooperation

VGP – Under the agreement reached between Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Đức Phát and his Russian counterpart Elena Skrynnik during their talks on July 14 in Moscow, the Russian Federation will provide training courses to Vietnamese agriculture staff.

Việt Nam and Russia are boosting agricultural cooperation by setting up joint projects

The two side also agreed to set up a joint venture plant to process tea, coffee and aquaculture; enhance the supervision and check-up of Việt Nam’s  agro- and marine products exported to Russia; and speed up cooperation in aquaculture.

Besides, the two ministers discussed ways to implement the agreements concluded in the recent meeting of the Việt Nam-Russia Inter-government Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

They also considered the establishment of a joint task force for agriculture and industry cooperation.

Minister Skrynnik committed that her Ministry will intensify cooperation with the Vietnamese agricultural agency to realize their joint projects and raise the volume of Việt Nam’s agro-marine exports to Russia.

She said that Russia is ready to provide its list of businesses interested in designing and building irrigation works in Việt Nam. Việt Nam is a promising trade partner of Russia, she added.
