VN, Russia boost deployment of key projects

VGP – Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung paid a working visit to Russia from November 13-14 to accelerate implementation of key economic projects between the two countries.

During the talks between Deputy PM Dung and Russian First Deputy PM Igor Ivanovich Shuvalov, the two sides discussed measures to beef up the bilateral economic and trade ties.

Deputy PM Dung affirmed that Viet Nam always regards Russia as a strategic priority partner in its foreign policy and will try its best to nurture the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia.

The two Deputy PMs said their oil and gas companies have cooperated actively in expanding exploitation activities within the continental shelves of Viet Nam and Russia while reviewing the two countries’ energy cooperation.

They agreed to continue facilitating their businesses to increase the effectiveness of their joint ventures and coordinating in new projects.

Both sides spoke highly of the two-way trade exchanges and pledged to raise the trade volume to US$10 billion by 2020.

The two countries agreed to continue effective deployment of the high-level agreements and outcomes of the 19th meeting of the Viet Nam-Russia Inter-governmental Committee for economic, commercial, scientific and technological cooperation.

The two Deputy PMs also discussed measures to implement priority projects in agriculture, automobile production, science-technology, education and training.

Deputy PM Dung will pay a working visit to Japan from November 15-16./.
