VN-RoK Informatization Committee to be established

VGP – The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS) last week signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on informatics cooperation.

The MoU is aimed at tightening cooperation and sharing experience between the two ministries. The RoK side will also assist Việt Nam to implement informatization programs and e-government.

Prior to the signing ceremony, MIC Deputy Minister Nguyễn Minh Hồng had a working session with Mr. Kang Byung-Kyu, MOPAS Deputy Minister, during which they agreed to the establish the Việt Nam-RoK Computerization Cooperation Committee.

Mr. Nguyễn Minh Hồng also took the occasion to invite Mr. Kang Byung-Kyu or other MOPAS leaders to attend and make speeches at the 4th World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR) slated for August 26-28 in Hà Nội.

MOPAS is in charge of IT application programs and e-government development in Korea.

Last year, in MIC Minister Lê Doãn Hợp’s working visit to Korea and MOPAS, the two sides agreed to foster cooperation in IT application and e-government.
