VN requires China to end tourism development in Hoàng Sa archipelago
VGP – The Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry condemned China’s plan on tourist development in the Hoàng Sa (Paracel) archipelago as a violation to Việt Nam’s sovereignty.

Responding to reporters’ questions about ideas recently made known by the Chinese State Council on December 31, 2009 in order to speed up tourism development in the Hainan island, including Việt Nam’s Hoàng Sa archipelago, into an international tourist site, Spokesperson Nguyễn Phương Nga on January 4 in Hà Nội reiterated Việt Nam’s undisputable sovereignty over the Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa island groups.
The Spokesperson stressed that China’s act has severely violated Việt Nam’s sovereignty, opposes to the common viewpoint agreed by senior leaders of the two countries; and causes tension and further complicates the situation in the East Sea.
Việt Nam demands China's immediate end to the plan, said the Spokesperson.
