VN repatriates 480 citizens from African countries, China

VGP – Viet Nam brought home 140 citizens from South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, and Qatar on Sunday, said Foreign Ministry.

Vietnamese Embassies in South Africa and Qatar sent staff to airports in Pretoria and Doha to help the citizens complete check-in procedures.

After landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh, all the passengers were medically checked and quarantined in accordance with the current regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

The same day, Viet Nam also repatriated more than 340 citizens from Macau, China.

The citizens landed at Can Tho International Airport and were quarantined as currently regulated.

So far, Viet Nam has organized 113 rescue flights to repatriate 32,008 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

More flights are set to be arranged in the time ahead to repatriate Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and domestic quarantine capacity./.
