VN removes diesel import duty

Under the new circular, export and import tariffs for diesel for cars, diesel fuel and kerosene were reduced to 0% from 3%.

The import duty on petrol and jet fuel remains unchanged at zero percent.

The circular took effect on the day it was signed in response to heavy pressures from rising oil prices on the global market.

The move came a day after the ministry allowed fuel distributors to raise retail prices of petrol and oil products to between 3% and 12%./.
