VN protests Taiwan’s military maneuver in Trường Sa Archipelago

VNGOVNet – Answering the Vietnam News Agency reporter’s question mentioning the military maneuver conducted by Taiwan in the west of Ba Đình Island of Trường Sa Archipelago on February 12-13, 2007, the spokesman of the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lê Dũng on February 14 stated:

“Vietnam has sufficient historical evidence and legal foundation to assert its sovereignty over Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa archipelagos. All activities in these two archipelagos undertaken without consent of Vietnam are in violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty over these areas. Vietnam protests these activities and demands Taiwan not conduct similar actions in the Trường Sa archipelago of Vietnam.”
