Addressing the event, Deputy Director of the MoIT's Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency Doan Thi Thu Thuy said that Argentina is the second largest trade partner of Viet Nam in Latin America, while Viet Nam is Argentina’s fifth largest import market in the world.
Two-way trade has seen encouraging growth in recent years, hitting US$3 billion in 2017. Viet Nam exports to Argentina garment materials, footwear, machinery, equipment and spare parts, while importing animal feed, materials, corn, wheat and some seafood products from the Latin American country.
The Argentine Minister expressed his delight at the productive relationship and growing trade revenue between the two countries, affirming that Argentina will attempt to promote and diversify trade relations and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.
He noted that Argentine enterprises are interested in and appreciate cooperation with Viet Nam in the areas of biotechnology, services, pharmaceuticals and engineering, while showing his wish that the two sides will expand trade exchanges to jointly create more value in the next stages.
In addition, representatives from Vietnamese and Argentine businesses studied bilateral trade and economic relations and investment opportunities as well as promoted connections in the fields of foodstuff, beverages, fruit, animal feed and pharmaceutical processed foods.
