The voting will be held by the UN General Assembly in June, 2019.
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, Head of Viet Nam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, thanked the Asian-Pacific countries for approving Viet Nam’s nomination.
She affirmed that Viet Nam will do its utmost to deserve the trust from international friends, expressing her hope that Viet Nam will receive further supports from the countries.
The nomination is a vivid illustration of Viet Nam’s prestige among regional nations and it will create favourable conditions for Viet Nam to mobilise support from countries in the other regions.
