Mr. Thanh highlighted the importance of the visit coming in the lead up to the establishment of the ASEAN Community later this year.
He said it will contribute to growing the friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples and armies.
The Malaysian Minister of Defence in turn echoed Minister Thanh’s sentiments saying he was confident the visit would further enhance the friendship between the two nations in the time ahead.
During their talks, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of their defence partnership over the past year buit on the memorandum of understanding on bilateral defence cooperation signed in 2008.
They agreed to continue working together in exchanging visits, search and rescue operation, naval cooperation and personnel training.
