The Lao PM welcomed the Vietnamese delegation to attend the Summit and thanked the Viet Nam’s Party, State and people for their valuable assistance, including official development assistance for Laos so far.

The two PMs expressed their pleasure at the fine developments of the bilateral ties in all fields as well as the coordination between the two nations’ ministries, agencies and localities in realizing the agreements reached at the 36th session of the Viet Nam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Cultural, Educational, Scientific and Technological Cooperation in early this year.

They vowed to continue cooperation in launching strategic connectivity projects in the time to come and conclude negotiations on a new free trade agreement in a bid to raise the two-way trade value to US$2 billion by 2015.

The two leaders also exchanged views on issues of regional concern and agreed to step up coordination in ASEAN and other regional and subregional mechanisms./.
