VN-India diplomatic ties: 35 years and on

VNGOVNet – Following the recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng agreed on January 02, 2007 that a number of celebratory events will be held to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-India diplomatic relation. The MOFA was entrusted to collaborate with other public agencies for the proposed activities with the aim of strengthening and cementing the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, moving towards the bilateral strategic partnership.

Accordingly, the PM assigned the Committee for Sports and Gymnastics to hold friendly sport contests between the two countries during the celebration.

The Ministry of Culture and Information will work with the Indian side to open a film week and exhibitions of Vietnamese and Indian cultures in both countries as well as exchange art troupes between the two.

The ministries and provinces with cooperative relations with India, especially Hồ Chí Minh City, are entitled to organize different celebratory activities at the expense of their own.

The Ministry of Finance will fund the activities to be held in solemnity, efficiency and effectiveness.
