VN has no A/H5N1 flu cases in 2011

VGP – There has no A/H5N1 cases in the country since the beginning of this year, confirmed the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) on Friday.

NIHE said that the patient who was earlier suspected of infecting the flu, died from another disease.

Testing result of the dead patient, aged 15, died in the central province of Thừa Thiên-Huế on February 14, proved that there’s no relation between the patient and the A/H5N1 virus.

The same result was also reported when NIHE on February 2 conducted a test on the flu-suspected woman, aged 62, in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc.
