VN, France discuss closer military cooperation

In their December 17 meeting in Paris, General Phùng Quang Thanh and Minister Hervé Morin exchanged their views of many issues relating to bilateral defense ties between Việt Nam and France.

Showing their pleasure at positive results of the recent cooperation, the two Ministers agreed on some measures to step up the cooperation in the military field.

At present, Việt Nam needs to train army military officers and purchase helicopters, air-freighters and some military equipment.

On the occasion, Minister Phùng Quang Thanh and Minister Hervé Morin inked the agreement on France-Việt Nam military cooperation.
