VN ensures security, safety for IPU-132

VGP – Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Head of the State Steering Committee for 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) on February 28 hosted a meeting to review the security and safety guaranty works for the event.

At the meeting, members of the Subcommittee for Security and Health, including representatives of the Ministries of Public Security and Health and Ha Noi’s police reported plans to ensure security and safety for the IUP-132.

The Deputy PM highlighted the importance and scale of the event, saying the success of the IPU-132 will help promote the role of the Legislature, enhance friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and other nations and organizations, and raise the country’s position and prestige in the world.

He tasked ministries, agencies and localities to tighten their cooperation and focus on reviewing and perfecting the security plans to guarantee the absolute safety for the participants.

The IPU-132 will be the most significant international political and diplomatic event that Viet Nam has hosted. During the four formal working days, more than 1,300 parliamentary members from 160 countries around the world are expected to gather in Ha Noi.
