VN, Denmark mark 43-year diplomatic relations

VGP- The Viet Nam – Denmark Friendship Association (VDFA) and the Denmark Embassy in Viet Nam celebrated the 43rd anniversary of the two nations' diplomatic relations in Ha Noi on November 25.

Addressing the event, VDFA President Tran Hong Ha spoke of Denmark’s great support for Viet Nam in the past struggle for national independence as well as the current development process.

Denmark is currently the leading aid donor for Vietnam’s response to climate change, he noted.
 
Denmark’s Ambassador to Viet Nam John Nielsen said over the past 43 years, bilateral relations have grown steadily, evidenced by the sound relations between the two governments and peoples.
 
In the coming time, Viet Nam and Denmark are strengthening relations with a focus on political dialogue and cooperation in green growth, clean technology, culture, education and training.

Denmark will support Viet Nam in shifting to a green economy by supplying necessary products, he added.
On the occasion, the Denmark Embassy also awarded students from Nguyen Sieu high school, who had won the essay contest on green thoughts.
 
Last year, Viet Nam - Denmark two-way trade turnover hit nearly $450 million.
