VN confirms two new cases of Covid-19, patient tally rises to1,456

VGP – Two Vietnamese repatriated from Germany and Canada were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, raising the patient tally to 1,456.

Specifically, patient 1,455 is a 26-year-old man in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

He took flight VN5036 from Germany to Van Don airport in Quang Ninh Province on December 18 and was quarantined in Hung Yen Province.

The patient is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1,456 is a 70-year-old woman who flew from Canada to the Republic of Korea and then took flight VN405 to Ho Chi Minh City on December 29.

She is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

The same day, four more patients were declared free of the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 1,323.

So far, Viet Nam has reported 35 Covid-19 fatalities./.
