VN confirms first bird flu death in 2010

VGP – Việt Nam reports the first case of death from bird flu (A/H5N1) in 2010, said the Department of Preventive Health and Environment under the Ministry of Health on Friday.

A 38-year-old woman has become the first victim died of bird flu (A/H5N1) in Việt Nam in 2010, bringing the number of deaths to 58.

The woman in the southern province of Tiền Giang died on February 23 after two days of unsuccessful treatment at hospital.

As reported, the victim had contacted to sick waterfowl. 

The Department recommended people strictly follow the preventive measures.
