Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of Chile in Ha Noi Alvaro Guzman said the FTA has opened up great opportunities for Vietnamese exports thanks to tax reduction while he was attending a workshop jointly held by the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on August 1.

Chile expects to cooperate with Viet Nam in such fields like agriculture, textile, garment, footwear, food among others, the diplomat said.

Under the FTA, tax exemption is applied to over 9,000 products with different roadmaps and a number of preferential service and investment policies are expected to come into effect within the next three years.

The FTA also includes regulations on market access, origin, hygiene control, technical barriers and technical cooperation.
