Under the agreement, Vietnamese and Cambodian citizens can enter respective countries without visa if their ordinary passports have six months in validity and their stay duration is within 30 days instead of 14 days as earlier stipulated.

Việt Nam and Cambodia signed the original agreement on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders on November 4, 2008.

Earlier, the two countries inked an agreement on visa exemption for their owners of diplomatic and official passports and laissez-passers on November 30, 1979.

Up to now, Việt Nam has concluded visa exemption agreements with at least 54 countries around the world.
