VN, Cambodia enhance national defense cooperation

VGP –Vietnamese and Cambodian armies should to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of human resource training.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement on Monday while receiving the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Pol Saroun who is on working visit to Vietnam.

Both sides also need beef up cooperation between local-level military units of the provinces along the borderline and share experience in army construction and development.

General Commander Pol Saroun said his visit to Vietnam aims to boost national defense cooperation between the two countries.

During his stay, the Cambodian General Commander met with his Vietnamese counterpart. The two sides agreed to accelerate friendly cooperation in human resource training, research and rescue, and building of the borderline of peace, cooperation, friendship and development between Vietnam and Cambodian.

He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government would support and create favorable conditions for the two sides’ cooperative activities.
