VN, Cambodia aim for US$ 5 bln in trade by 2015

The two PMs reached the agreement on November 24 in Laos on the sidelines of the ongoing 8th Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam (CLV) Development Triangle Summit.

PM Dung highlighted the significance of the Summit, hoping that the three countries would foster economic linkages for respective benefits.

Regarding the bilateral ties, the two leaders agreed to maintain exchanges of delegations at all levels and spur cooperation in the areas of economics, trade and investment; security, defence.

They also reiterated the principle of not allowing any hostile force to make use of territory of a country to harm security and interfere in internal affairs of the other.

The two PMs also highly praised the efforts of competent agencies of the two countries in border demarcation and underlined their determination to early fulfil the task and contribute to building a borderline of peace, stability, cooperation and development.  

They were unanimous in creating favourable ways and granting equal treatment for overseas Vietnamese and Cambodian people and ensure their legitimate rights.

The two sides also took the occasion to talk regional and international issues of common concern, agreeing to strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums like the UN, ASEAN, regional and sub-regional cooperative mechanisms./.
