VN calls for taking peace, stability, prosperity as common goal

VGP – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung said that nations in the region must take peace, stability and prosperity as the common goal in line with respecting independence, sovereignty and autonomy.

He made the statement on March 20 at the High-Level Dialogue on Indo-Pacific Cooperation: Heading to a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive region in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

The event attracted the participation of Foreign Ministers and high-ranking officials from 10 nations in ASEAN and eight country partners including Australia, China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Russia and the US. 

The dialogue created an opportunity for all sides to exchange initiatives on Indo-Pacific Cooperation, thus seeking for cooperation for joint benefits based on common principles.  

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dung proposed enhancing comprehensive and effective cooperation between nations, upholding the role of ASEAN to orient for cooperation on the basis of current cooperative programs and plans as well as mechanisms and frameworks established and guided by ASEAN.
