VN, Belgium ink MoU on migration

VGP - On be half of the Vietnamese and Belgian Governments, Việt Nam’s Ambassador to Belgium Nguyễn Mạnh Dũng and Belgian Minister of Migration and Asylum Policy Annemie Turtelboom yesterday together signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on immigration issues.

Ambassador Dũng and Minister Annemie underscored that the signing of the MoU reflects the two countries’ desire to enhance bilateral cooperation, so as to prevent illegal immigration and facilitate legal migration and repatriation of illegal migrants.

It is reported that Việt Nam is the first Asian nation to sign an MoU on immigration with Belgium.

The document is valid in five years and automatically extend its validity every five years if no party has any recommendation to object or amend it./.
