VN, Australia mark 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties

VGP – State President Tran Dai Quang sent a congratulatory message to Australian Governor-General Peter Cosgrove on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Australia (February 26, 1973-February 26, 2018).

The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan separately cabled messages of greetings to Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith, and President of the Senate Scott Ryan.

The same day, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh delivered a congratulatory message to Australian FM Julie Bishop.

In these messages, the Vietnamese leaders stressed that the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and Australia has been unceasingly consolidated, strengthened, and flourished across various areas. 

The two countries are preparing to elevate the bilateral ties to strategic partnership which is expected to open up a new chapter in the history of ties development. 

They were convinced that on the basis of important achievements over the last four decades, political confidence, and similar benefits, the bilateral ties between Viet  Nam and Australia would continue to develop, bringing benefits for people, and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the Asian Pacific region./.
